Cycling tourism in Ontario is experiencing rapid growth and we heard from our stakeholders that this is an important area for government and industry to work on together.
I am pleased to introduce the province’s first plan for cycling tourism, Tour by Bike: Ontario’s Cycling Tourism Plan. Ontario is home to extensive on and off-road cycling networks that stretch across the province, connect our communities and offer unique views of our urban and rural landscapes. Through this plan, we will increase and support cycling tourism opportunities in the province and promote cycling as a tourism draw in Ontario communities.
Tour by Bike: Ontario’s Cycling Tourism Plan builds on the work we began with the Tourism Action Plan and the Strategic Framework for Tourism in Ontario. It will also support #CycleON : Ontario’s Cycling Strategy and Ontario’s Trails Strategy.
The plan is available on our website and I encourage you to share this information with your contacts.
I am excited to launch our Cycling Tourism Plan, and I look forward to continuing our work to grow tourism in Ontario.
